TECHNOSANGRAM   DIARIES    PART   IV

Long break since my prev post.. apologies :) well, had an internal test to answer and of course some boredom and laziness coupled.. but the blogger is back in me and so here i am.. narrating my part iv of technosangram diaries :)

Well, now that all the sponsorship and background work was in place, we were off for a colg tour.. meanwhile, back home, Amey managed to collect the cheques and flood the ASSETS account by the time we reached back.Gr8 job done!

so lets fast forward to a week prior to techno.. this was hectic.. we had to ensure that publicity was at its peak and all arrangements were in place.. we got a setback.. PCCE, which is another engg coll in Goa had their ITs during techno and so our participation from there was ensured ZERO. i admit, we panicked. We requested to the students to do something about it as we valued their participation. But alas! in vain.. didnt work out.. meanwhile, on the brighter side of things.. we received 54 entries from colleges over India!

literally.. we initially had a group of 6 ppl who had booked their registrations for robotics from PUNJAB!

that was our entry from the north!

post that a team of 4 registered from chennai and we had south too!

we regularly have always got entries from maharashtra and karnataka colleges.. to add to it we had ppl coming from Andhra and that made up for deccan!!

EAST made its presence felt through an entry for bczar from kolkata!

we we make the west!!

yo yo!! technosangram 2k11 was now TRULY national!!

about the decorations.. well amey again took lead.. he made a robot.. this is how he looked

.. those LEDs that u can see are made by ruj.. she made those detailed LEDs, resistors and capacitors! kudos to her.!

those names of events in backgrounds? well.. entire class contributed to it.. mainly pushkar, akshay and others..

akshay and donald made arrows labelled technosangram to be put right from main bldg to dept to guide visitors..

Also, we put up posters all over college..

 

we made crazy publicity on fb.. sorry to all those ppl who received a flood of regular updates from many of us..esp me.. about techno all the time! :P :D

also.. all of us had changed our profile pics to a techno background.. it was difficult to differentiate betn ppl!!

we went to many colleges to personally extend invitations tot he students.. helped us.. got us many participants for workshops and some events.

it was a learning experience too!

i realised how much i LOVED my dept and college! it is awesome! we have lots of liberty! and i love it!!

we also made these alphabets that we would hang by a string.. i had this lil' idea to make the chief guest pull them together and mark our inauguration.. it seemed impractical to evrybdy initailly.. but eventually pushkar and kapil managed to do it!! they did it overnight!!

whoa!! so much preparation!! was jus hoping the event would go great and smooth!!

bdw i have my first ever radio interview that day.. publicity part of techno.. sound byte of 2 mins or so i guess.!! quite a few people heard it u know? my uncle called me back to tell me heard me on air! so did one of my friend's dad!! :)

and with this and MANY MANY MANY last minute preparations.. we were all set to have a grand inaugural ceremony the next day! lots of last minute co-operation from HOD contributed to a major chunk of it!
